Media Vision and Protective Enclosures Company will be providing 240 The Display Shield® weatherproof cases for the University of Alabama to be placed throughout Bryant-Denny Stadium. Newly designed for 2014, The Display Shield® models DS4050H and DS5060H will encase back-to-back suspended monitors and will cover all menu boards and digital signs in the facility. Owners’ Representatives and Audio/Video consultants, Anthony James Partners, specified LG displays and The Display Shield® for the job. Protective Enclosures Company is the leading manufacturer of secure weatherproof TV and digital display enclosures. Over 4,500 Protective Enclosures Company products can be found in residential and commercial locations in 11 countries worldwide.
Of many competitors, Protective Enclosures Company’s The Display Shield® products were selected for the project due to three main factors, which were affordability, weather-resistance and weight. The Display Shield® is cost efficient as it can be paired with almost any digital display and mount, instead of an expensive outdoor display.
The enclosure’s ultra-clear Lexan ® cover (shield) is manufactured using ¼” thick shatter-resistant polycarbonate, the same material used to produce bulletproof glass, for ultimate durability and screen protection. The Display Shield® is also actively ventilated with a thermostatically controlled 36CFM 115V filtered fan and two vents located on the upper side corners. The Display Shield® is water-resistant and will protect signage against rain and concession stand wash-downs; a huge benefit for the University of Alabama.
In addition, units weigh 50-75% less than alternative outdoor enclosures and are made of lightweight, yet highly durable and long lasting HMWPE outdoor plastics. The largest unit only weighs 58lbs and the smallest unit is 18lbs.
Though new to the commercial market, Protective Enclosures Company
products can be found in W Hotels Worldwide, Marriott, Talladega
Superspeedway, Southwest Airlines, TGI Fridays, Six Flags, Georgie Tech,
University of Mississippi and more. Protective Enclosures Company CEO,
Justin King, stated “Protective Enclosures Company’s patent pending
lightweight outdoor plastic weatherproof enclosures, including The
Display Shield®, are becoming popular signage protection choices for
educational institutions due to affordability and durability that can’t
be found elsewhere.”
